Minesweeper World Championship 2025
The Minesweeper World Championship 2025 will take place at 42 Madrid on the last weekend of September - for the first time in ten years!
Main Events
There will be three main events:
The Minesweeper World Championship 2025
The World Championship will use exactly the same format as previous world championships, ie, 0+5+5/3h.
As a brief explanation, this means that players play as many games as they like for three hours, and the sum of their five best intermediate and expert times is their final score - obviously, the lower the better!
It will be played on Scoreganizer using Vienna MineSweeper. The version used will support skins, and with that larger square sizes.
A more detailed explanation with examples is available on the info page for the World Championship 2015.
The Chord Cup
The next iteration of this modern (yet already venerable) PvP event series.
More details coming soon!
Minesweeper Royale
This event will take place on minesweeper.online. Players will compete in a free-for-all in multiple categories:
- Speed
- Efficiency
- No Flags
- Win Streak
- Density
- Arena
- PvP
- Mobile
Also check out the event page on minesweeper.online, where updates about this event will be posted first!
Prizes
There will be prizes in USDT provided by minesweeper.online. They will be paid out to winners' MSO account wallets, from which they can be withdrawn to a cryptocurrency wallet. Our huge thanks go out to Minesweeper.online for this contribution!

A note on L chords
The Chord Cup and Minesweeper Royale will support L chords; however, the Minesweeper World Championship will not, only L+R chords are supported.
This is because the World Championship operates under the ruleset of the official world ranking on minesweepergame.com.
If you haven't played with L+R chords before, we recommend getting used to that well before the tournament. If that is the case, odds are, you play on minesweeper.online - you can switch to L+R chords in settings.
